Inner Strength – Hilary Duff

This week in discussion of Campion’s ayres we talked about how he had them all written for one voice part and one lute part. He wanted his work to be simple but also emphasize the importance of the words. So for the sake of simplistic song and an emotional meaning I offer for this weeks Blog Post a short song by Hilary Duff. There is a short interlude of music at the beginning but as she begins to sing the music compliments the words and moves the song along.

“Inner Strength”

Gotta find your inner strength
If you can’t then just throw life away
Gotta learn to rely on you

Beauty, strength, and wisdom, too
You’re beautiful inside and out
Lead a great life without a doubt
Don’t need a man to make things fair
‘Cuz more than likely he won’t be there
Listen girl, gotta know it’s true
In the end all you’ve got is you
