I Hate You but I Love You and Lady Mary Wroth

I feel that “I Hate You but I Love You” but I love you is a modern version of some of Wroth’s work . In her pieces, Pamphilia is so conflicted between her love and contempt she holds for her lover, Amphilanthus. She does not like him because she is trapped and not treated well. Even so, she still loves him through all these negative aspects and she despises cupid for the arrow he shot at her. This song has the same theme, a person who is in love with someone they’d rather not be.

“I Hate You But I Love You”

You were so high above in the sky
I just keep feeling like a little childI hate you but I love you
I just can’t take how beautiful you are
I hate to say this but my eyes go blind.

I hate you but I love you
my favourite song becomes a healing sign
I hate to say this cause my heart goes blind.

Oh you were so high above in the sky
everytime I travel far I think about you by my side,
to any of those places I cannot go back.

I hate you but I love you
I just can’t take how beautiful you are
I hate to say this but my eyes go blind.

I hate you but I love you
my favourite song becomes a healing sign
I hate to say this cause my heart goes blind.
